Signed by author and illustrator Maurice Sendak on half title, with an illustration of a "Wild Thing" drawn in his hand. (Grolier Children's 100, 97) An exceptional signed copy. Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are was first published by Harper & Row in 1963 and won the 1964 Caldecott Medal. (Hanrahan A58).
