Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Very Good. Limited Edition. 24 pages that feature fold-outs, flaps, and shaped edges. All of the words in the text begin with the letter 'o.' "This vast well of information was completed in early May of 1980 under the scholarly guidance and nimble wit of Walter Hamady. Spectrum type was used throughout on…Kitikata, Sekishu, and Rives papers; Covers were handmade by the printer and the amazing Walter Tisdale. In an edition of 25 this is number 109 x 116 mm. Soft folded cover sewn to single signature. Joan Flasch Artists' Book Collection. Barbara Tetenbaum and Walter Tisdale are UW-Madison alumni. OCLC 7728092. WorldCat records three copies worldwide (Chicago, Vermont Howe, Wisconsin). The illustrations were created using stencils, string, and other found objects during the printing process. This hands-on, experimental approach to image-making is a hallmark of the artist's style and a key feature of the book's visual appeal. Tetenbaum designed the book to direct the reader's gaze to different locations on the pages. This challenges the conventional, linear act of reading and encourages the reader to physically interact with the book, making them an active participant in the experience. The work features musings on both Tetenbaum herself and her father, adding a layer of personal narrative to the abstract and structural experiments. Published under Tetenbaum's Triangular Press imprint in 1980, this is an early work by an artist who has since become a key figure and influential educator in the contemporary book arts field.
