First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First edition. Tall octavo. 170pp. Small owner label on front pastedown. Binding with modest wear and some very faint spotting, spine gilt a bit dulled, front endpaper with a small area of light offsetting, very good or better. Inscribed by Albert Kennedy "Rosey" Rowswell to former New Jersey Governor and president of the minor league baseball Interstate League, Harold G. Hoffman: "To Harold G. Hoffman, May you enjoy it as much as I have. 'Rosey.' '49." A collection of old-time inspirational prose and verse. "Rosey" Rowswell also wrote light verse but is best known as the first full-time play-by-play announcer for the Pittsburgh Pirates, calling their games for 19 seasons. An interesting association.
