The sole issue of the student-edited poetry journal, edited by David Ross, which famously brought Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes together in February 1956. Ted Hughes was a poetry contributor to the journal, itself named after a church in Cambridge. Though the journal quickly folded and this was the only issue, the launch party on 25 February introduced Sylvia Plath to Ted Hughes, after Plath had been struck by Hughes' poetry and sought to meet him. A near fine copy. Bright and fresh dark burgundy red wrappers with a few marks on the lower panel, otherwise very crisp. Internally unmarked and very fresh. The staples have rusted, as is common with this publication. 36 pages. The very good white jacket has a 1.5cm closed-edge tear to the lower panel where it meets the flap; small 1.2cm split to the spine; small marks to the lower part of the lower panel; the laminate protecting the jacket has adhered to the jacket, some of the laminate has been lifted in the past, lifting also some paper fibre from the jacket, elsewhere the laminate glue has adhered visibly to the jacket.
