Lind, aside from being a Bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was part of the first operational Spacelab mission in early 1985. His lone seven day mission to space was aboard the Challenger, just a few short months before the disaster that would go on to alter the course of shuttle history.
