      Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Published in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1884, this is the First Edition of this scarce book of plays and poems by Thomas Leith Rettie 1855-1907 of Aberdeen. The book contains two plays by the author, followed by his poems, one poem over three pages long is titled "Address to a Whale", and is about a Whale in the Arctic Ocean, and mentions the Arctic explorer Franklin. Book is bound in the original bevelled edges boards titled and decorated in gilt to the upper cover and spine, 9 inches tall approx. 213 pages, with the bookbinders ticket of Jackson's Works, Aberdeen. Illustrated with a portrait. Light rubbing wear, sunning to spine, and lighter sunning to top of rear board, internally foxing to endpapers, a few minor foxing spots within, a few light annotations in pencil to some page margins, else contents generally clean.
