Paperback. Condition: New. First edition. Sybil Kathigasu was perhaps the most famous icon of resistance to the Japanese occupation of Malaya. Her reputation was no doubt helped by the fact that she was swept up by the British propaganda machine, shipped off to the UK to be treated for her horrendous injuries from Japanese torture and awarded the George Medal before she died from those injuries. This book incorporates her famous personal account, No Dram of Mercy, the account of Chin Peng, the guerilla leader who worked closely with her, and "Exploring the Legend' by Norma Miraflor & Ian Ward, looking at why Sybil Kathigasu's work was so important. 239 pages including some black and white photographs which have not been previously published. Weight 0.70 Kg. Postage within Malaysia is free.
