Houghton Mifflin Company, 1941; first printing, bearing same date to title and copyright pages, with no additional indicated; xlvii, 276pp. Binding is tight, sturdy, and square; corners of green cloth boards and ends of spine gently bumped; black and red titling remains bright and bold. Overall light shelfwear to extremities of jacket, with light age-toning to spine. Interior is free of previous owner markings. Ships same or next day from Dinkytown, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Hard Cover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. A clean, tight copy of this handsome book. The jacket is faded and slightly chipped, but unclipped. This copy has the bookplate of Lloyd Emerson Siberell, who was a major bibliographer of John Cowper Powys, on the front free endpaper. The bookplate has the look of an original woodcut in two colors, and was designed by Mathias Noheimer of Cincinnati, who was to illustrate Llewelyn Powys's A Baker's Dozen for Hal Trovillion's edition. This book also has the sticker of McClelland's bookstore of Columbus Ohio on the front pastedown. There is some rubbing to the bottom of the boards.
