Colour print of Bonzo the dog by George Studdy, issued by the Sketch Magazine. The sheet measures 13.2'' by 9.5''. Shows Bonzo digging up a golf course looking for rabbits. Bears Studdy's printed signature. Some rubbing/chipping to edges, few small tears to edges, a little soiling/damp marking. Bonzo, a naughty little pup, was created in 1922 by British artist George Studdy (1878-1948). Bonzo was very popular. He appeared on the stage, on the big screen in one of the world's first cartoon films and in various forms of mass marketed merchandise.

Overall, a nice copy of a scarce Bonzo book. Very funny illustrations.

Studdy und wurde zunächst als Postkarten- und Zigarettenbildmotiv sowie in Illustrierten, Bilderbüchern und als Postermotiv lanciert. Zu Beginn wurde die Figur nur als der Studdy-Hund bekannt, bis er im November 1922 offiziell getauft wurde.
