No Binding. Condition: Good. In German. 1 leaf (two sided. 44 x 30 cm. In acid free Mylar envelope. Yellowed paper. Will be delivered to buyer, by hand, in Manhattan, N.Y.C. only. Would not be shipped.Based on the visible ads and references, this leaf most likely dates to 1938, or possibly very early 1939. One strong indicator is the ad for "Deutsche Meisterschaft Berlin 1938" (German Championship Berlin 1938) connected with Walther firearms. Such references to a specific championship year strongly suggest the page was printed during or shortly after 1938. Additionally, the typography, commercial style, and the prominence of consumer goods such as radios, tobacco, watches, insurance, and health remedies are characteristic of late-1930s German print advertising under the National Socialist regime. Nothing on the page suggests wartime austerity conditions (which intensified after late 1939), further supporting a pre-war 1938 dating. This surviving leaf consists almost entirely of advertisements rather than editorial content. One side is headed "Unsere Zemente" (Our Cements), promoting the Süddeutscher Cement-Verband of Heidelberg. Below that appears a dense grid titled :Kleinanzeigen aus dem Reich" (Classified Ads from the Reich), filling nearly the entire page with tightly packed small ads. The layout reflects a highly commercial urban readership. The ads promote a wide array of consumer goods and services: harmonicas (notably the brand Hess), musical instruments, razors ("Rasierklingen"), coffee, books, sewing machines, optical goods, photography services, radios, and household items. Several ads emphasize "Gratis" offers, installment plans, or trial periods ("10 Tage zur Probe"), suggesting competitive retail marketing. Mail-order sales are heavily represented, indicating a well-developed national distribution network.Health-related advertisements are especially prominent. Remedies for hair growth, hearing loss, headaches, bronchial issues, and "Kopfschmerzen" (headaches) appear alongside tonics and pharmaceutical products. These ads use persuasive language promising quick relief or scientific effectiveness. A recurring theme is modernity and technical improvement - products are described as "neu," "verbessert," or "wirksamer". Food advertising is present as well. At the bottom margin is a large, bold advertisement for MAGGI's Fleischbrühe (meat broth), including pricing information ("3 Würfel 9 Pf."). The design uses heavy black bands and strong typography to attract attention. The reverse side continues the commercial emphasis but with larger display advertisements. A prominent Brinkmann Tabak advertisement features bold graphic design and curved decorative lettering. A central box promotes an Uhren-Fachgeschäft (watch specialist shop), claiming expertise and quality guidance for buyers. The ad copy stresses reliability and proper professional consultation. Another large advertisement promotes Hotel Excelsior in Berlin, noting its many departments and concert/dance facilities, including "Thomas Keller" and "Konzert und Tanz." This suggests the hotel was marketed as an entertainment venue as well as accommodation. Its positioning indicates appeal to travelers and possibly to provincial readers visiting the capital. Several ads relate to education and self-improvement: "14 Tage Sprachunterricht" (14 days language instruction), drawing lessons ("Jeder kann zeichnen"), and insurance services. There are also firearms and sporting goods advertisements connected to German championships, reinforcing the 1938 timeframe. Notably, while this leaf comes from Der Stürmer, a virulently antisemitic propaganda paper, these particular pages are purely commercial. The advertisements present an image of everyday German life: consumer culture, leisure, self-betterment, and modern conveniences. The dense arrangement of classified ads reflects the financial model of newspapers at the time, relying on advertising revenue alongside ideological content elsewhere in the issue.…

Red Cloth. Condition: Good. In German. 43 x 31 cm. A single sheet, illustrated, from Der Stürmer, depicting anti Semitic cartoons and articles. In acid-free Mylar envelope. Yellowed paper. Will be delivered to buyer, by hand, in Manhattan, N.Y.C. only. Would not be shipped. The first page is labeled "Der Stürmer, Folge 43" and consists of a full sheet of caricature panels by the regular cartoonist "Fips." It is a montage of separate scenes rather than a continuous story, unified by recurring stereotypes and political targets typical of the paper's propaganda style in the 1930s. Each vignette uses exaggerated physiognomy, symbolic labels, and captions to frame Jews, foreign powers, journalists, and democratic politicians as enemies of Germany. The largest upper-left panel shows a small, frantic man wearing a Star of David attempting to restrain a massive bear armed with rifles, ammunition belts, and a gas mask. The bear bears Soviet insignia, suggesting Bolshevism or Russia. The caption implies that Jews pretend to control such forces but, in reality cannot, reinforcing a theme that Jewish influence is both dangerous and duplicitous while foreign powers remain uncontrollable threats. Other panels shift to economic and political themes. One image depicts a boxer identified as a Jew striking at "Germany," accompanied by a slogan claiming that whenever Germany is attacked, Jews are behind the blow. Another shows a figure labeled with foreign-exchange or currency terminology ("Devisen") tripping a man in traditional dress, suggesting sabotage of the German economy or manipulation of international finance. A further vignette presents a frightened man branded "Demokratie" being shoved through a door by a hook-nosed figure with a pistol, implying that parliamentary democracy is merely a Jewish front or tool. Nearby, another cartoon titled "Volksfrontalarm" associates Jewish figures with foreign alliances and domestic unrest, suggesting conspiracies against the nation. Press and journalism are targeted in the lower left. Two figures empty a bucket labeled "Hetz-Presse" (incitement press) outside a building marked "Redaktion," while a third carries a sack reading "Emigrant Gift," implying that hostile reporting comes from Jewish émigrés and is financed from abroad. The caption claims that after pouring out hatred, these people then complain about being opposed, portraying criticism of the regime as hypocritical agitation. The final large panel depicts a helmeted female allegorical figure - possibly Germania or Europe - standing atop a battery of huge cannons, raising a sword while a small man behind her recoils in terror. The caption mocks foreign governments that criticize Germany while benefiting from its strength, again insinuating Jewish instigation behind international opposition. Across the page, the style is aggressive and theatrical: Jews are rendered with grotesque features, while abstract concepts such as democracy, the press, and foreign exchange are personified and weaponized. The collection functions as a visual barrage of accusations rather than a single argument, reinforcing the newspaper's worldview that Germany is surrounded by hostile powers and internally undermined by Jews, journalists, and democratic institutions working together.…

No Binding. Condition: Good. In German. 44 x 30 cm. 1 leaf (2 pages). In acid-free Mylar envelope. Yellowed paper. Will be delivered to buyer, by hand, in Manhattan, N.Y.C. only. Would not be shipped. These two pages from Der Stürmer, Julius Streicher's virulently antisemitic Nazi newspaper, present a coordinated set of articles designed to reinforce stereotypes of Jews as foreign, immoral, criminal, and politically subversive. The tone throughout is inflammatory and propagandistic, combining alleged personal anecdotes, selective quotations, distorted religious references, and sensational imagery. The first page is headed "Juden aus Brasilien" ("Jews from Brazil"). It purports to reproduce a letter from a German living abroad who claims to have encountered Jewish emigrants in South America. The article alleges that Jews left Germany not from persecution but to exploit new economic opportunities, portraying them as opportunistic, dishonest, and hostile to Germans. The narrative suggests that Jewish settlers dominate trade, mistreat workers, and undermine ethnic Germans economically and culturally. The text repeatedly frames Jews as a foreign body within German communities overseas and implies that their success comes at the expense of others. Adjacent to this is "Jüdische Kriegspropaganda" ("Jewish War Propaganda"), which accuses Jews of manipulating international opinion and press coverage in order to push nations toward conflict with Germany. The article claims Jewish organizations orchestrate campaigns abroad to depict Germany negatively and to prepare public opinion for war. Such assertions are presented without evidence and fit a standard Nazi trope portraying Jews as hidden puppet-masters behind global politics. The column titled "Aus alten Büchern" ("From Old Books") selectively cites older Christian or polemical writings to suggest that Jews have historically been condemned for alleged wrongdoing. These excerpts are used to imply that modern antisemitic ideology merely continues a long-standing judgment, thereby attempting to lend historical or moral authority to contemporary Nazi claims. At the bottom of the page is a photograph labeled "Jüdische Jugend aus Palästina" ("Jewish youth from Palestine"), accompanied by commentary warning of a supposedly militant or revolutionary new generation. The layout links these youths visually and rhetorically to fears of global Jewish activism. The page concludes with the emphatic slogan "Bolschewismus ist radikale Judenherrschaft!" ("Bolshevism is radical Jewish rule!"), tying Jews to communism and presenting them as enemies of Germany. The second page is dominated by the headline "Judenarzt als Volksverderber" ("Jewish doctor as corrupter of the people"). It recounts a lurid, accusatory story about a Jewish physician in Fürth accused of illegal abortions, sexual misconduct, and harming German women. It describes police investigations, court proceedings, and alleged victims in sensational detail, emphasizing supposed brutality and moral depravity. Biblical quotations are inserted to portray Jews as inherently inclined toward evil, and the article insists that such crimes are typical rather than exceptional. 2 photos accompany the story: a portrait labeled as the accused doctor and images of his treatment room. Captions claim the room was the site of countless disgraces and physical ruin, encouraging readers to see ordinary medical equipment as evidence of conspiracy and cruelty. The page ends with: "Ein Volk das den Juden zum Herrn im Lande macht geht zu Grunde"("A people that makes Jews masters in the land goes under"), summarizing the paper's core message that Jewish presence supposedly leads to national collapse. The two pages illustrate Der Stürmer's method: combining anecdote, distorted religious references, criminal accusations, political conspiracy theories, and stark slogans to dehumanize Jews and to justify their exclusion and persecution within Nazi ideology.…

No Binding. Condition: Good. In German. 44 x 30 cm. A single sheet, illustrated, from Der Stürmer number 14 of 1937, depicting anti Semitic cartoons. In acid-free envelope. Yellowed paper. Will be delivered to buyer, by hand, in Manhattan, N.Y.C. only. Would not be shipped. This leaf from Der Stürmer presents nine separate caricatures, all built around classic Nazi antisemitic tropes. The drawings mix political commentary with racialized fantasy, portraying Jews as conspiratorial, parasitic, cowardly, violent, or corrupting forces behind world events. panel-by-panel thematic summary: 1. Soviet Power as Jewish-Controlled. A grotesque Jewish figure lounges in a bathtub shaped like a hammer-and-sickle, suggesting Bolshevism is a Jewish creation or playground. The cityscape in the background implies domination over modern society. This echoes Nazi propaganda that equated communism with a Jewish conspiracy. 2. "Springtime in Red Spain." A skeletal skull and battlefield ruins form the base of a peaceful pastoral scene. The caption associates the Spanish Civil War's bloodshed with Jewish or leftist influence, blaming Jews for revolutionary violence and national ruin. 3. England and War. A soldier sits amid rubble and weapons, implying Britain is manipulated or corrupted-again insinuated to be by Jews-into continuing war. Jews are portrayed as warmongers pulling nations into destruction. 4. "Soviet Paradise." A theatrical stage scene mocks Soviet propaganda: Jewish caricatures shout slogans about liberation while chaos unfolds. The implication is that Jewish agitators deceive ordinary people with promises of utopia. 5. Freemasonry. A large compass and square loom ominously over a dark background, tying Freemasons to secret control. Nazi ideology frequently linked Jews and Freemasonry as twin hidden powers undermining nations. 6. Sabotage and Corruption. A sneaky figure spills liquid near a café table, implying poison, bribery, or subversion. Jews are depicted as quietly undermining society from within. 7. Biological Threat. A monkey-like caricature holding a document labeled with medical or racial terminology suggests Jews as carriers of disease or racial degeneration-another standard Nazi motif portraying them as subhuman and dangerous. 8. Strikes and Labor Unrest. A Jewish caricature slips away from a door marked "Strike," implying Jews organize labor disruptions for selfish or destructive ends rather than genuine worker welfare. 9. League of Nations Sabotage. A man rides a snail labeled "Völkerbund" (League of Nations), slowing or poisoning it with ink, symbolizing Jews obstructing international peace or diplomacy for their own benefit. Overall Message of the Leaf. Taken together, the nine cartoons construct a single narrative: Jews are shown as hidden rulers behind communism, war, and diplomacy. They are depicted as biologically inferior or animalistic. They supposedly manipulate labor movements, freemasonry, and governments. They are blamed for international instability and bloodshed. The format, multiple short cartoons rather than one large illustration, lets the paper bombard the reader with repetitive accusations, reinforcing stereotypes through volume rather than argument. Verso consists almost entirely of prose articles reinforcing Der Stürmer's antisemitic narrative through crime reporting, foreign-news commentary, and pseudo-legal argument. Headlines accuse Jews of ritual cruelty, organized theft, labor agitation, and manipulation of international finance and politics. A long central column claims Jews dominate criminal networks and distort justice systems, while side pieces allege Jewish influence behind wartime suffering, foreign newspapers, and commercial markets such as Christmas trade. Quotations and court references are selectively presented to give these charges a veneer of factual authority. The page closes with the paper's familiar exhortation linking loyalty to Germany with hostility toward Jews.…
