Bright green cloth with beveled boards and gold lettering/printing on cover 72 pp. Decorated end-papers, frontispiece with tissue guard. Minor bumping to top/bottom of spine and small cloth chip to spine bottom otherwise very clean and bright, probably never read. Why this… little book was published: "Having travelled through all the States and Territories of the Union; crossed the continent by the four different routes, and tried the pleasures of the coast steamers on both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, I have formed many pleasant acquaintances with "Knights of the Grip" in different parts of the country. And having something of a reputation as a natural reader and impersonator, I have often been called upon in Pullman cars, hotel parlors and other places, to furnish something in the way of entertainment for the "boys." In many cases I have been asked for copies of selections which I have given and sometimes have written copies in answer to such requests." Clean, tight, and complete. None (illustrator).

Overall a tight, clean, nice first edition of this unusual anthology of poems by and about the life of the travelling salesman. Contributors include Ella Wheeler Wilcox, John Hay, James Whitcomb Riley and "Captain Jack" Crawford.
