Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good+. No Dust Jacket. Presumed First UK Edition. One of a series of Tippenny-Tuppenny Books for children. All Miniature books sized 7cm x 6.5cm (c. 2.8" x 2.5") . Highly destinctive original pictorial covers in primary colours of yellow, red, green and blue, titled in dark blue, with paper over thick card…cut flush, front and back, but just paper over the spine area which is given to wrinkling due to being just stuck directly onto the gathers. The spine is a bit grubby/rubbed, but all titling clear. Internally there is a list of titles in the Tippenny-Tuppenny series (32 listed) inside the upper cover and on the front free endpaper. But a b/w Illustration of toys inside the rear cover. No pagination (but circa 44 thick pages). Full page b/w frontispiece by Lilian Govey - numerous other b/w illustrations throughout the book but those are not 'signed'. The frontispiece and 4 other illustrations have been coloured in by a child, but VERY neatly and in pastel colours. There are splits between the 3 gathers but the book is tight and clean otherwise, with NO Inscriptions or other marks. A charming example of an early child's 20th Century Miniature book. Fun on the Farm. Overall Good Plus to near VG. See Images ; The Tippenny-Tuppenny Books; Miniature Less than 3" tall. Illustrated by L. A. Govey (Frontispiece) (illustrator).
