Published 1866, 28pp., 3 folding plates including one with 9 figs of the devices and another with 7 figs showing placement of mines and the type of explosion. Some foxing, else vgc in volume of RE Professional Papers Vol. XV New series 1866 which includes fortifications at Antwerp and Summary of Campaign in Austria 1866 201pp., in all. Working copy of the volume wear to covers and lacking title page.Realistically priced.

Limp morocco, with gilt cover-title and borders, 8vo. 68 pp and 5 fold-out plates, 8 pp and 5 fold-out plates, Scarce. Second item has no title-page but is dated 30 June 1864 at end of text. Inscribed "S. Steward, 23 Connaught Sq." (father of the author) on front free endpaper. Leather rubbed and worn at spine, joints and board edges, joints torn at head of spine, contents Good.
