Quarter-gray cloth over gray pictorial softcovers, cover art illust. of the Colorado State Capitol building, w/ sun rising over the mountains (minor chipping to couple corners, some occasional creasing, edgewear), still VG- copy. First edition, 1 of 1000 Edition de luxe copies, of this surprisingly uncommon, and well-executed land promotion of Denver, Colorado during the Progressive Era, capturing the up-and-coming Western City. The photographers have captured downtown streets, bustling business districts, electric streetcars, the billboard advertising, stately homes, city parks, and more. Thayer had produced many souvenir view books including Denver by Pen & Picture (1900), The Canons of Colorado with W.H. Jackson photos, Colorado in Color and Song (1899), and many others. Stevens (fl. 1898-1925) was a noted Colorado photographer, whose studio, Stevens' Fotographerie was located on E. Bijou in Colorado Springs, near where his father E. Hoyt Stevens managed the Alta Vista Hotel on Cascade Ave.
