Although I have a large number of railroad-related books among my Florida-based inventory (now suspended until next winter), I also have just as many here in New York. Soback to listing railroad-related books, with another, this one titled: "TehachapiRailroading on a Desert Mountain," by Steven Schmollinger. This large hard cover book (11 ¾ x 10 ¾ inches, 160 pages) was published by Stoddart as a Boston Mills Press Book, dated 1993 and I believe, a First Edition. The book is bound in black matte cloth-covered boards with striking silver gilt decorations and titles on cover and spine; it is protected by a glossy, pictorial dust jacket. The book is well-illustrated, beginning with colorfully decorated endpapers and cover to cover color photos, many set in the striking desert/mountain landscape of Tehachapi. Condition: This book is in near fine condition. The dust jacket has some very minor edge wear, essentially some wrinkling at the lower corners where the book was lightly bumpedthere are no tears or chips. The hard covers are also clean and bright and just slightly bumped as mentioned. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and photos are bright, clean and attractive throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.
