Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: good. First Printing. 8vo; 336, [ii] pages, cloth; nicked dj Inscribed for a mutual friend by Stern in 1964. Robert Ruark calls Stern "by all odds, the toughest reporter I ever met." Stern also authored, NO INNOCENCE ABROAD, a good, punning title for a crime reporter. Stern recounts his arrival in Rome as a war correspondent traveling with the 5th Army. Chapter 4 covers the mystery around the death of Mussolini. Chapter 5 is "A Nightmare Called Dachau".
