Cover has no visible wear, and the dust jacket has been price-clipped on inside front page. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, and no underlining/highlighting of text or writing in the margins. There is a penciled price marking on inside flyleaf. There is some very minor scuffing to the front dust jacket that is now protected by the mylar cover.The author, Kent Stephens, gives one of the best accounts of lumbering in California in this book. ?This is the first edition of this outstanding book. ?It is inscribed and signed by the author (see above photo). ?The book is abundantly illustrated with outstanding pictures from the era 1870's - 1960's. ?This book is especially strong in the coverage of Diamond Match's railroading operations.
