Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Baghdad, 2008. Over twelve million dollars. One very bad spreadsheet.Gerrie Kling is a German ex-paratrooper turned private military contractor, running security operations for a British company deep inside Baghdad's International Zone. His job is straightforward: track convoys, keep the radios working, make sure the dots on his screen stay green. He is not supposed to know what is in the boxes. When a colleague's keyboard error scrambles the company's TRISS cash resupply schedule - millions of U.S. dollars moving to the wrong places at the wrong times - Gerrie finds himself staring at a gap in the system that nobody was supposed to see. A gap large enough to drive three armoured Land Cruisers through. What follows is part heist, part war story, part dark comedy about five professionals who understood exactly how the machine worked - and decided to break it. Standing between them and twelve million dollars: Route Irish, FOB Warhorse, a sandstorm that grounds everything, an FBI investigation, and an Iraqi fixer who turns out to be considerably smarter than any of them. Written by a former PMC contractor with three years in Baghdad during the Iraq War. The operational background is real. The plan is fiction. The money is gone. Perfect for readers of Andy McNab, Brad Thor, Vince Flynn and Jack Carr. This item is printed on demand.
