It, per the preface, "gives a resumé of Roman history, manners, customs, arts, literature, architecture, religion, etc." With numerous engraved illustrations and a two-page color map of the Roman Empire at its greatest extent. An entry in Barnes'One-Term Series. --- In light brown cloth-covered boards decorated in darker brown, with titling in darker brown to covers & spine. --- A generally well-preserved copy, but with a missing part of the spine at the crown and darkened endpapers. Interior is unmarked and remains tightly-bound.; 12mo - 7 to 7-1/2 in. tall; xii, [1], 14-302, 61-73 (ads) pages.
