Steadman has drawn a full-page caricature of Hunter Thompson, with a cigarette holder hanging out of his mouth. Curving over Thompson's head, Steadman has written: "On behalf… of the Good Doctor". Black cloth-covered boards, gilt spine lettering, gilt front board decoration, 8 5/8 x 5 3/4 inches,…278 pp. Book near fine: 3/16 inch horizontal band of tan discoloration of the black cloth at the base of the spine; slight tan discoloration, top edges of boards; a few minute spots, fore-edge of book block; red lettering and gilt on spine bright; gilt on front board bright; Dustcover near fine: mild edgewear, most noticeable at the upper anterior tip, where there is a small erosion measuring about 3/8 inch horizontally and 1/16 inch vertically; very subtle (equivocal) fading of red lettering, spine. Defects described in detail; a beautiful copy. (3214017).
