The first official reports of the Secretary of War and the Secretary of the Interior in regard to the Fetterman Massacre, during which 3 officers, 90 enlisted men, and 2 civilians were massacred near Fort Philip Kearney by a force of 1000+ Sioux Indians, and a few Cheyenne and Arapaho warriors. An exceptionally important event that resulted in the abandonment of multiple military forts along the Bozeman Trail. Both reports are in fine condition. Protected in a custom clamshell box.
