First Edition
Softcover. Condition: Fine. First Edition. Scarce in the trade, there being currently no additional copies available on-line. Sterling condition softcover copy, with unfurled tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear to the stiff red card-stock wraps. Facsimile of the first page of Lady B. Revised reproduced in facsimile at frontis. A fine little keepsake prepared by Lauri Stalker regarding a minor character ("Lady B.") in a major work. His Wikipedia entry notes that Samuel Richardson (19 August 1689 ? 4 July 1761) "was an English writer and printer known for three epistolary novels: Pamela; or, Virtue Rewarded (1740), Clarissa: Or the History of a Young Lady (1748) and The History of Sir Charles Grandison (1753). The man was prolific, publishing at least 500 works, including journals and magazines, working periodically with the London bookseller Andrew Millar." Fine introductory essay by Laurie Stalker and then plentiful fine photographs in facsimile of pages of the original work, now held by the Huntington Library. String-tied. Unpaginated, but roughly 24 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
