First Edition
Hardcover. Presumed first edition (NAP) . Hardcover, 118 pp; very good, no dustjacket. Ex-JCC lib. Corners bumped, approximately 1/8th inch deep fraying at head and foot of spine, dust darkening on top edge of textblock. Internally, previous owner's sgn, tape repaired front and rear hinge cracks, paper lightly age yellowed, but otherwise text is tight, clean, crisp, unmarked and apparently never read, with no dates on slip. Study of Biblical and Jewish influences on William Cullen Bryant, Longfellow, John Greenleaf Whittier, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Edgar Allen Poe, Eugene Field, Walt Whitman, etc. Judaica; literary criticism; history; Bible studies.
