B/W photos and charts. Inscribed by the author "To Jackie Montegudo - with kindest regards to a good Baton Rougean from William A. Spedale, May 1, 2000" on title page. Good book. Moderately shelfworn with a few small scuffs and scratches to the cover and creasing to the spine. There is a small quarter inch split to the lower front joint. The page preceding the Table of Contents is loosening just bit from the binding. There is some light staining to the last page. An account of the stories of the many pilots, mechanics, nurses, and other personnel who helped to make Harding Field a vital part of the war effort. It also tells the story of the impact that the base had on the city of Baton Rouge.
