A comedy-romance about a young scientist trying to find his way in today's society, a tongiue-in-cheek look at the world we all have to deal with, including the absurdities of the everyday. Gessner was a Hungarian filmmaker who mostly made television movies. Blue blank wrappers with die cut title window in the British style. Title page present, with credits for screenwriters Nicolas Gessner, and Charles Spaak. 143 leaves, with last page of text numbered 141. Xerographically duplicated. Februar 1909 in Carcassonne; 6. Februar 1989 in Paris) war ein Rechtsanwalt und wichtiger französischer Filmregisseur des 20. Jahrhunderts. Seine Filme behandeln die Probleme und Missstände der französischen Justiz. "Wir sind alle Mörder" ist ein französisch-italienisches Justizdrama des auf juristische Themen spezialisierten Regisseurs André Cayatte. Postuliert wurde mit dieser 1952 entstandenen, filmischen Anklage die Abschaffung der Todesstrafe in Frankreich. Cayatte hatte mit diesem Film, wie so oft in seinem künstlerischen Wirken, einige Probleme mit der Filmzensur erhalten. Man stieß sich vor allem an dem Ausspruch eines Untersuchungsrichters in Wir sind alle Mörder: Morde an Deutschen gehen die Justiz nichts an. Von französischer Seite war befürchtet worden, dass diese Einstellung, die in französischen Justizkreisen gleich nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg offensichtlich gang und gäbe war, die Neuordnung der deutsch-französischen Beziehungen nach 1945 empfindlich stören könnten. "Wir sind alle Mörder" war der zweite Teil von Cayattes sogenannter Justiz-Trilogie. Vorangegangen war 1950 Schwurgericht; es folgte 1955 Die schwarze Akte. "Wir sind alle Mörder" erhielt 1952 bei den Filmfestspielen von Cannes den Spezialpreis der Jury. In Reclams Filmführer heißt es: Cayatte macht hier die Mitschuld der Gesellschaft an den Taten ihrer Außenseiter deutlich. Daraus, und aus der nüchter-realistischen Schilderung des Lebens in der Todeszelle gewinnt er Film eine Intensität, die ihn zum besten Teil der Justiz-Trilogie Cayattes macht. All with ditto-style mimeo snipes on the verso, crediting the original title, Feuillere, Servais, Blier, and Allegret. Also included is a business card for starring actor Lefebvre, here as Lefevre, with an inscription in French and initials by him in manuscript ink. Housed in a manila envelope with French film title and a credit for director Allegret in manuscript ink. Based on the 1956 novel "Sans Attendre Godot" by Jean Amila (Meckert), who wrote mostly science-fiction and mystery novels. Noirish crime thriller about night-club owner Godot (Servais), who hires hitman Jo (Delon) to rub out an enemy, convinced of his wife Angele's (Feuillere) adultery. Angele might be the femme fatale, as she moves in on the hitman. 5 x 7 inches, envelope twice as large, and business card a third smaller. Near Fine overall, with slight curl to the photographs, light foxing to the business card. Selby Worldwide.

Notations listing other French films in manuscript ink on verso, and with a negative-printed credit for photographer Roger Forster at the bottom left corner of the recto. Winner of 1936's Louis Delluc Prize (the first year the prize was awarded), Renoir's film is based on a Maxim Gorky play depicting life in a flophouse, centering on a bankrupted Baron (Louis Jouvet), a thief (Jean Gabin), his two lovers, and the landlord. Akira Kurosawa also adapted Gorky's play in 1957 as . Renoir's adaptation, not nearly as bleak as Gorky's play, maintains a warm humanity, but in the case of Kurosawa, the setting is changed to Edo period Japan, and the story remains faithfully grim. All photos with annotations on the verso in manuscript pencil. Photographed by Jean Jungmann and developed in his Strasbourg photography store, Portrait d'Art, with his imprint in the lower right of the photos, and all inside an original envelope from the story. Arnoul is seen signing autographs, gracefully smoking a cigarette, and accepting flowers on stage, as well as cavorting with costars of the film, including French-Armenian director Verneuil. Fracoise (Arnoul) is a hotel employee, smitten with a valet named Gerard (Risso), and may or may not be related to wealthy businessman, Henri (Boyer), Gerard's boss. Arnoul's last collaboration with director Verneuil, the others being "Forbidden Fruit" (1952), "The Sheep Has Five Legs" (1954), "The Lovers of Lisbon" (1955), and "People of No importance" (1956). 5 x 7 inches. Collection of 67 original single weight borderless film stills for the 1962 French-Italian film, here under the original French title, "Cartouche." Action sequences, men in military regalia, and romantically charged images of Belmondo and Cardinale, with most representing Belmondo either charming people or dueling with swords. Housed in original brown envelope, noted as "CARTOUCHE" on the flap. Numerical annotations in manuscript pencil on the versos. Also included are a few leaves of French press material, on stationery from the film's distributor, Cinedis. A riveting Peplum (sword-and-sandal) swashbuckler set in 1700s France, where a gang member named Cartouche (Belmondo) forms his own band of knaves, deciding his former gang to be too unethical. He steals from the rich to give to the poor, enlists in the army to escape capture, and meets Venus (Cardinale), a gypsy prisoner who joins his new gang. Venus' love proves fatal, and Cartouche rolls her into a lake in a stolen carriage, vowing revenge, knowing it will likely lead him to the gallows. Belmondo and Cardinale's interaction is palpable, but they would star in only two other films together, Mauro Balognini's "La viaccia" (1961), and José Giovanni's "Scoumoune" (1972). Photos 6.75 x 9 inches. Very Good plus overall, with light curling, a few short creases, and a few slightly discolored. Press material corner-stapled and paper-clipped, Very Good plus overall.
