In this painstakingly researched book, the author debunks much of the romantic myth surrounding Calamity Jane. She emerges as a mixed up character who in spite of a decidedly warm concern for the underdog, was too wildly sodden much of the time to realize that she lived in a time of historic importance. Well written and researched. One of the better books written on the subject. Six Guns #2061. COLLECTOR QUALITY.
