Scrapbooks filled with hundred of watercolors painted by a long-forgotten Union private were discovered in 1994 in a Connecticut bank vault. Herein is a collection of these paintings along with the artist's own powerful text giving you a close-up and personal glimpse as to what it was like to be a soldier on and off the battlefield. 329 pages including index. Color and B&W illustrations. No price on dust jacket, but stated first printing on the copyright page. Fantastic copy.
