Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Paul de Vos, W. P. Hodges, L. Kemp Welch (illustrator). 1st Edition. Subscribers Edition with list of the 73 subscribers to the rear.Small 4to. pp192 + contents and preface pages complete with 4 colour plates, including frontis, only one with tissue guard. No dust jacket as issued. Limp red cloth binding with gilt titles to spine and gilt roebuck and hound to front board in very good condition with a little bumping to tips, rubbing to edges and sides of spine, and a little shelf wear to top & tail of spine. Inside a little foxing to end papers with all other pages and plates, with top edge gilt in excellent clean and bright condition in a tight, solid binding. There seems to be some debate about the real author with Robert Dunkin & Guy Hardwin Gallenga both being cited as "Snaffles"(Gallenga more recently). Hedging my bets I've put both. A lovely copy of a scarce book.
