Soft cover. Condition: Fair. Boston Medical and Surgical Journal was published Wednesdays by D. Clapp, Jr., of 184 Washington Street, Boston. This number dated Wednesday, November 29, 1837. String-tied, octavo, annual pagination [261]-276. FAIR-only with some foxing, old tide-lines, creasing, and short marginal tears. Safely stowed now, however, in a clear new Ultra-Pro sleeve with white card stock backing board. The Lead articles this week were "Functions of the Brain" and "Formation of the Brain, Heart, &c." Also contains "A Case of Malformation of the Septum Narium"; "Liston's Surgery"; and a brief Yarmouth, Maine, obituary for a Dr. Gad Hitchcock, "aged about 50." Of present day interest is a short ad on the last page informing physicians that they can procure "ten quills charged with PURE VACCINE VIRUS" for $1.00, post paid. Includes a few additional notes and advertisements.
