First Edition. Good copy only in the original gilt-decorated violet cloth over bevelled boards, now heavily toned by sun and dust, and showing substantial wear to their edges. Corners bumped, with the front joint torn in three places. Contemporary owner's signature to front pastedown. Much better internally, with leaves showing only the expected faint foxing and dust-dulling to the margins; plates retain their tissue guards. A well-preserved example overall.
