Brown cloth with spine titles in gold, black-stamped rules, gold stamped decoration, a.e.g., black-coated end-papers, title page with red border and capitals, numerous illustrations and musical bars. Condition: Good. 1898. New edition, revised. 464 pages. No dust jacket. Pictorial cloth covered boards. Gilt edges to textblock. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Boards have moderate shelf wear with some rubbing, fraying and corner bumping. Some moderate marking and tanning, particularly to spine. Gilt lettering to spine is dulled but remains brighter on front.

Hinges not cracked in or out; original yellow endpapers. Owner signed. Near VG, light spine end fraying. Original printing, not modern remake.

Hard back binding in publisher's original russet pebble cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine, gilt illustrated front cover, gilt page edges, black paper end papers. Quarto 10½'' x 7''. Contains 464 printed pages of text with monochrome illustrations and music scores throughout.
