Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. [Robert K. Burt, London, 1862]; 8vo, [iv], 96, 4 Catalogue pages; paper wraps, title page printed within border on front, spotted, chipped, bumped & creased, front of wrap appears to have been reglued well, 6cm tear from base on spine rear, age-toned, many leaves unopened, a very good copy in original condition. With the large fold-out map [often missing], small holes at central folds, 5cm tear from fold-out base but top two-thirds solidly joined to title page. With the bookplate of G[eoffrey]. & N[ancy]. Ingleton. Geoffrey Ingleton was one of Australia's foremost maritime historians, renowned for his authoritative biography of Matthew Flinders & most infamously remembered as the illustrator of "Love Me Sailor". Presumably his interest in this particular book was for research purposes as we can only fnd one tenuous link to South Australia, that being his serving on the HMAS Adelaide early in his naval career. Considering the ephemeral nature of this booklet, it has worn well and provides an excellent snapshot of colonial South Australia.
