unbound. Original unpublished manuscript -- the lyric sheets for the song "Don%u2019t Pin No Roses On Me", 12.5 x 9.5 inches, 3 pages, yellow lined paper, with corrections and cross-outs different from the completed printed version with his composer co-writer Rose Marie McCoy credited, no date, circa 1954. Accompanied by the original printed solicitation sheet music that publisher Sid Prosen intended to send to vocalists and record company personnel, in an effort to get the song recorded. But something happened to make Prosen change his mind. The Library of Congress, ASCAP and B.M.I. have no entries for this composition and it was never recorded. A rare opportunity to acquire a composition written by a major songwriter while it was still a work in progress. Fine condition. Legendary African-American R&B songwriter who is, ironically, best known for having written the lyrics for Frank Sinatra's "Strangers In The Night" and later "Spanish Eyes.".
