Fournier, Pierre Simon (illustrator). small 4to. quarter vellum over paper-covered boards, vellum tips. 47, (12) pages. First edition, limited to 300 copies, of which this is the scarce hardcover edition. Slight uneven fading to the outer boards, discoloration to the endpapers, else a near fine copy. This is a German edition of the special issue of the Monotype Recorder from July 1926 which was devoted to Fournier. Loosely inserted is a type specimen sheet measuring 372 x 268 mm, printed one side only and folded once showing Fournier types from 10 to 18 point printed within a decorative border. A history of printing in France is followed by 10 pages of the Monotype revival of Fournier in 18, 14, 13, 12 and 10 point. quarter vellum over paper-covered boards, vellum tips.
