Exterior cloth is clean and square with light edge wear. Dj has light bumps to corners including repaired cracks at top and bottom of spine. Dj retains good graphic quality to cover illustrations of endangered animals. Interior is very clean, with well- preserved color plates of each featured animal. These illustrations are the reason for this books value. From the dj: ". . . the illustrations are a unique combination of precise scientific detail and artistic inspiration. No animal drawings are better; few, if any, are as good." The binding of book is weak and numerous pages are loose and about to separate. Contents of book are complete. Because the primary value of book may in removing these illustrations, the poor state of binding is not thought to depreciate the book too much.
