Hardcover. Condition: Good. Illustrated. Original brown embossed binding with gilt text and illustration on the spine. Some spotting on front board, and moth damage at joint of back board. There is some dark brown spotting and damage at the rear inside hinge, and on some of the pages near the end of the book. Stitching is visible, but the binding is still relatively tight. Other than the pages mentioned above, the interior is relatively clean with no known marginalia. The pages are foxed and browned. There is a frontispiece illustration engraved by Anderson with the original artwork attributed to T. H. Matteson. This authorship appears to be the same for the other engravings scattered through the book. Nathanael Green (1742-1786) served in the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War, and was considered one of Washington's most talented and dependable officers. His command was in the southern theater of the war, in Virginia, Georgia, and South Carolina. 393 pages. Hardcover, good condition, 12mo.

Small pieces at end of spine are worn away. Binding tight. Small stains. Previous owner's info inside front cover and on fep. Foxing throughout.
