Original tissue guard over frontispiece intact, but darkening as expected. 127 numbered pages. An unattributed pencil notation on rear flyleaf in the hand of Hoffmann scholar Thomas A. Sawyer indicates that this copy… was sent to him by noted magic collector, J.B. Findlay. In this unusual magic publication, Hoffmann provides a lengthy, whimsical children's tale, which is punctuated with magical effects, which are then explained at length following the story. H.L.
