Hard Cover. Third impression. Octavo, pp. 283, [1], 20 pages of bookseller's advertisements. With 17 illustrations. Bound in publisher's peach cloth over boards, with gilt titles to spine. With the original publisher's illustrated dust-jacket. Very good. Foxed to text-block edges else clean, tight, and free from inscriptions or annotations. Unclipped dust-jacket lightly soiled with a few small closed tears and minor loss to edges. Sergeant's delightfully eccentric study of English witches, devil copulation, and werewolves. Written on the insistence of Sergeant's close friend and godfather of Weird Fiction, Arthur Machen, with his introduction. Scarce in the fragile dust-jacket.
