Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. BERKSHIRE MUSIC FESTIVALS THE TALE OF TANGLEWOOD BY M.A. DEWOLFE HOWE 1946. Quoting from the flap of the dust jacket: The word Tanglewood has two vivid associations in the mind of the American public. The first is with Hawthorne s Tanglewood Tales; the second with a series of Music Festivals conducted in recent summers by Serge Koussevitzky at the country place that bears the same name. I am pleased to offer a post-WWII celebration of Tanglewood; please find: The Tale of Tanglewood Scene of the Berkshire Music Festivals by M.A. DeWolfe Howe and with an Introduction by Serge Koussevitzky. This small hard cover book (6 ½ x 9 ¼ inches 99 pages) was published by The Vanguard Press of New York dated 1946 and I believe it is the First Edition. The book includes a series of photographic illustrations. It is bound in decorative boards with a blueish gray spine with gilt titles and protected by a printed paper dust jacket. There are some things laid-in at the rear endpaper including a 1949 New York Times clipping about the upcoming year s festivals. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket shows some light edge wear and bumping at the corners and spine tips. The hard covers are clean but perhaps a bit dust-dulled but with just faint bumping. Inside a former owner has left her name on the front endpaper and the clipping at the rear has left a shadow. The interior pages are clean and bright without toning or foxing. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu.
