Decorative End Papers, No Writing, Interior Toned, Some Pages Soiled Or Softly Creased. Corners And Spine Ends Rubbed And Two Gouges To Back Board. The Binding Is Loose. This Is I Think Quite Illustrative Of Western Canada In 1910, A Time When People Would Gather At The Home Of a Neighbour And After Refreshments There Would Be Games, Skits, Songs And Recitations Of The Sort Found Here. I Am Reminded Of The Wreck Of The Hesperus Which My Mother Could Recite, And Like That Sad Story, The Narrative Poems In This Collection Often Deal With Unfortunate Events: Freezing To Death As In "The Blizzard - A True Story" Or Perhaps A Lynching (See Photo). My Notes Indicate That The Author Developed A Following A Few Years Later When He Published The Iceberg's Bride, Which Dealt With The Titantic.
