No dust jacket (i.e. lacking). Black cloth; discolored patches to spine and boards; spine ends frayed with tear at head; board corners worn; gilt and silver stamping upon spine and front board remains fairly bright. Toning and several light stains to text block edges. Some stains to several initial and rear leaves; ink ownership inscription at top of half-title page along with some peeling at center from removal of sticker; a few scattered small stains/soiling to interior text leaves which overall remain clean. Glue repair to shaken rear hinge but text block binding is firm. Only a good copy. Remains landmark work in American musicology sixty+ years after publication.
