Paperback. Condition: very good. First Edition. Complete in four volumes, July-December 1924. Vol. 2 chipped along the spine otherwise a very good set in multicolored wraps. Enclosed in a custom slipcase with leather label. Scarce. Under the capable editorship of Edwin Seaver, 1924 is an important review of modern letters. In it, Munson and Pound quarrel over the intelligibility of "The Wasteland." Seaver's conviction is that a magazine should never have a dogmatic policy, "For policy, if it be worth anything at all, is a living dynamic thing. It is the spirit of the magazine, not a label. It is constantly changing, constantly renewing itself." In addition to a number of valuable critica articles, 1924 published the poetry of Hart Crane, Yvor Winters, Edwin Seaver, E. E. Cummings, and William Carlos Williams.
