Uncommon. OCLC (No. 2822584) locates less than a dozen copies at institutions worldwide, all but one of them at U.S. seminaries, and the other at Australian Lutheran College in Adelaide. ~SP23~ A snapshot of the 'state of the art' in Lutheran Sunday Schools in the heartland of America in 1928. The publisher's description: 'The author clearly defines and firmly fixes the real aim of Sunday-school work, describes the needed equipment, states the qualifications of teachers and officers, discusses manners and methods of teaching and closes with a cheery word of encouragement in view of the blessed results of Sunday-school work. The treatment is informal, genial and charming, yet intensely serious. There is a refreshing absence of technical terms and scientific phrases, making the book delightfully readable in all its parts and intelligible to teachers who are not familiar with pedagogical and psychological terms.' Contents: Introduction: The Child in the Midst; 1. Getting the Vision; Procuring the Equipment; Delivering the Goods; Collecting the Profits. Walter Erwin Schuette (1867 - 1955) was ordained to the Lutheran ministry in 1888, serving as pastor at churches in Detroit, Michigan; Bellevue and Toledo, Ohio; and Wheeling, West Virginia. He served in various capacities for the American Lutheran Church organization, including vice president from 1936 - 1944. He was the author of a number of other books, including Her Place Assigned (1896),The Devotional Life of the Church Worker (1921), God Is Faithful (1925), Moments with God (1925), God Save the Home (1940), Keeping the Faith (1941) and 27 juvenile stories and plays.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'Moments With God: A Bible Selection, a Short Bible Text, a Prayer for Each Day in the Year' is a comprehensive daily devotional guide designed to provide spiritual nourishment and reflection throughout the entire calendar year. Curated by Walter E. Schuette, this collection offers a struct…ured approach to daily worship, ensuring that readers can find a dedicated moment for contemplation and connection with the divine every single day. Each entry in the volume is thoughtfully organized into three distinct components: a carefully chosen selection from the Bible, a concise scriptural text for deeper focus, and a closing prayer. This tripartite structure serves to ground the reader's day in biblical wisdom while providing a direct avenue for personal conversation with God. Whether used for individual morning meditation or as a guide for family worship, the book serves as a steadfast companion for those seeking to deepen their faith and maintain a consistent spiritual practice. With its emphasis on the practical application of scripture and the transformative power of regular prayer, 'Moments With God' remains a valuable resource for anyone desiring a more disciplined and prayerful life. Its timeless structure and focus on the core tenets of Christian devotion make it an enduring tool for spiritual growth and daily encouragement. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it.
