Signature A. Büttner on first endpaper. Scholz (1786-1833) received his M.D. degree from University of Vienna in 1810. He was appointed Professor of General Technical Chemistry at the Poltechnic Institute of Vienna in 1825 but left in 1827 to become Director of the Porcelain Factory (Rossau) and Director of the mirror factory in Neuhaus.
