Schabacker 1930 First Edition A very collectible book with authentic historical appeal. "Schabacker was the first to make technical analysis and charting an organized discipline" (Linda Raschke) R. W. Schabacker passed away a…t a young age so he may be unknown to many present investors; yet, his understanding of the markets was awesomely profound and his writings on the markets perhaps more prolific and technical than any other of his day. His early positions were with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the Standard Statistics Company (now S&P). In 1925, he joined Forbes Magazine, becoming the youngest Financial Editor in its history, and remained there for ten years, until his untimely death at the age of 36. The body of work by Schabacker is among the most influential ever written on the technical side of the market. Recognized as one of the "greats" by market students, his theories were the basic source material used by Edwards and Magee in their standard technical market works. Schabacker also rated as one of the supreme market forecasters of his time; his published forecasts in September 1929, at the peak of the long Bull Market, warned of an "impending major reaction" and advised liquidation of stocks.
