Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. Handsome publication of the Account Book of John Munden's Chantry of Bridport, Dorset for the years 1453-1460. Originally kept by William Savernak, one of two priests living at the chantry, the account book -- edited and with an introduction by historian K.L. Wood-Legh -- gives a fascinating picture of the workings of a middle-class household in the late English middle ages. Text of the book itself is in Latin; introduction and editorial material in English. Copy is in very good condition. Minimal wear to the blue cloth boards. Interior is clean and unmarked. Plate frontispiece is coming loose, but still attached. Else binding is solid and secure. Dust jacket is good. Some general wear and chipping. Portion of loss to the base of the spine and top rear corner. Tear to the jacket at the head of spine repaired with tape. Jacket now wrapped in protective Brodart cover.
