44 PP (adverts), followed by 816 pages with b/w illust. throughout. Orig. navy blue cloth cover, title in blind on front cover, gilt title on spine. Signs of speckling on covers, top and bottom of sunned spine are frayed, small piece of front hinge missing, o/wise this scarce edition is internally very good. Oblong: 22.8 x 32. With 1 map, 900 half-tone photos, 2,400 line drawings of ships, 800 line drawings of House Flags and 1,520 line drawings of funnels for recognition. (All illustrations are in b/w: war necessity). 9 pages of German, Italian and Japanese recognition silhouettes of planes, and 10 bw photos with caption Sea Power saves the world).
