This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The aim is to study the situations of elderly and to generate a framework to create inclusive living environment for elderly. To begin with, Preliminary diagnostic surveys are done to study and establish the need of creation of incl…usive living environments for elderly. Literature review is done to understand ageing, associated problems and the International concepts. Then field surveys are performed to identify the challenges that elderly face. Elderly in age group of 60 to 85 years representing independent, frail, and dependent elderly are studied using environment-behavior research tools. Based on these issues, analysis and synthesis is done to identify the possibilities of interventions at architecture design level. It has been established through testing and validation that the gap can be filled by guidelines to create Inclusive living environments for the elderly. Thus, a methodology to develop the guidelines has been prepared. Following this methodology, the guidelines to create 'Living Environments for the Indian Elderly' are prepared. 316 pp. Englisch.

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Mixed/inter/relay cropping is a common practice in the low level equilibrium farmers of semi-arid and arid tropics, whose primary concern is to insulate his investment on labour, and meagre capital against adversities of nature in o…rder to sustain his living. The main consideration of mixing crops together is to reduce the risk of failure. The basic concept of intercropping systems involving growing together two or more crops with the assumptions that two crops could exploit the environment better than one and ultimately producing higher yields, the reason being that the component crops differ in resources use and if growing together they complement each other, and make better overall use of resources. The grower, thus, has what might be called 'biological insurance'. Pearl millet is the main kharif (monsoon) crop grown under rainfed conditions. Intercropping is common practice in pearl millet in rainfed conditions. Hence, it is worthwhile to find out best combination of pearl millet intercropped with short duration grain legumes like green gram and black gram. Weed problem is one of the major barriers responsible for low productivity of pearl millet. 168 pp. Englisch.
