Book shows very light shelfwear to covers only, a little edge wear, small chip at bottom spine, otherwise clean with creaseless covers and spine. Binding is solid and square, covers have (almost) sharp corners, exterior shows no… other blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind, save previous owner at front, dated 1968. Unpaginated -- about 50 pages with b&w photos of and from the exhibition throughout with carpenter's tools, wooden joint illustrations, ribs of a ship, then catalogue of exhibits (41) with notes from each and measurements of art chairs and production chairs of the Thonet firm: chairs, revolving stools, rocking chairs, etc. A study of the Thonet bentwood chair as a design object, examining the industrial processes of steam bending and mass production that made it one of the most widely produced chairs in history, published in conjunction with a Carpenter Center exhibition at Harvard.
