Traducción, selección, introducción y edición de Francisco Torres Monreal En mi traducción de esta poesía he intentado -que lo haya conseguido es algo diferente- que el texto castellano sea rítmico, poético en sus elecciones léxicas y en sus combinaciones sintácticas, al tiempo que plenamente fiel al sentido y al estilo original. Particularmente, prefiero las ediciones bilingües como la presente aunque, como advierte Borges, la presencia del original frente a la traducción al traductor y limite el vuelo libre. He centrado mi selección en la poesía que se hace en Quebec, la bella provincia canadiense, a partir de 1960. Puedo decir, sin reparos, que algunos de estos poetas, de lengua francesa, nostalgias europeas y enraizadas vivencias americanas, entre otras, están a la altura de la mejor poesía universal, reflexiva e intimista, de nuestros días.
